Wolves Women's indoor team wrap-up for 2009/2010 season
1s Final Place: 2nd
2s Final Place: 3rd
This season saw a number of our relatively new players step up and really show their hidden indoor hockey talents. The young players pulled out some great plays and individual skill come the end of the season, together with the experience of some of the older players, the teams performed very well. The 1s made it into the Grand Final but were unfortunately not quite a match for Vic Park, but they put up a great fight bagging 5 goals still.
The average age was stretched a little this season thanks to Maxine Growden, proving that a little fitness training can get you back playing your favourite sport in no time, no matter how long you’ve been away from the game!
The two teams worked so well together as a group of players and I’d like to personally thank all the 2s girls who were more than happy with my last minute request to help the 1s team out!
Robyn Himbeck – THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU – your support and work is invaluable and amazing. You cover my back every time and really look out for all players so much, thank you!
Congratulations to all players who made it to the state level and represented Western Australia in Adelaide last year. It’s fabulous seeing more Wolves players each year trying out; we produce some awesome players at this club!
Cheers, Fiona Young
